Rifat is an artist with a passion for all types of art. She studied drawing, painting, and art history at the Corcoran School of Art and The Art League School, with experience working in printmaking and encaustic art. Her interest in patterns and the relationship between mathematics and forms in the physical world led her to attend workshops of geometric art at the Prince’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts and The Art of Islamic Pattern. Her work tries to encapsulate moments in time and refer to a diverse range of sources from nature, music to architecture as well as sacred geometry.
She is an exhibiting artist and member of The Art League Gallery, Gallery 75 and Capital Hill Art League who participated in several group shows. She works and lives with her family in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.
